LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE EMERGENCY RESPONSE, LANGLEY AFB, VA Client – SWS Contract Value - $1,396,000 |
| Winter Environmental provided emergency response services at the Langley Air Force Base following Hurricane Isabel. The base had received severe wind and water damage to several of its structures and many of the damaged buildings significantly disabled the operational functions of the base. A total of 28 buildings, including the base commander's headquarters, required immediate stabilization. Winter Environmental's project team worked around the clock to implement and deploy an emergency response plan of action. Within 36-hours, Winter Environmental had deployed over 120 personnel to the site along with numerous quantities of equipment and materials. Over the next 24 days, more than 6,200 cubic yards of building debris were removed from the site. The scope of the environmental stabilization included demolition, asbestos abatement, and microbial remediation. |

| Winter Environmental performed asbestos abatement at Atlantic Southeast Airline's (ASA) Hangar located at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The project involved the removal of deteriorated Galbestos finish, an asbestos regulated material, from the facility's metal siding so a new finish coat could be installed. This project required extensive logistical and operational support because of the requirements necessary to protect both personnel and equipment on the interior and exterior of the facility while enabling the clients operations to remain 100% uninhibited. |

CSX TRANSPORTATION HURRICANE KATRINA RESPONSE, NEW ORLEANS & MISSISSIPPI Client – CSX Transportation Contract Value - $441,000 |
| Winter Environmental provided emergency response clean-up and support for CSX after Hurricane Katrina. The project scope included the removal of storm damaged debris, and mold and asbestos remediation at CSX rail yards located in New Orleans and Pascagoula, Mississippi. Within 48 hours, Winter Environmental mobilized necessary equipment and crew consisting of 24 environmental technicians and laborers, three foreman and three superintendents to the area. Major equipment mobilized to the site included five mobile-home trailers for the crew living quarters, special vehicles with trailers, skidsteers, backhoes and 20k generators. Food, supplies and water tanks filled with potable water to sustain operations for a one month period were also deployed. Personnel worked 12 to 16 hour days, seven days a week. |
